Mikey Nichols Tournament Delivers Competitive Youth Hockey Action Across New Jersey

The Mikey Nichols Tournament, held from June 21-23, 2024, in New Jersey, was a spectacular event organized by Defender Hockey Tournaments. Spanning multiple venues, including Jersey Shore Arena, Howell Arena, Prudential Center, ProSkate Arena, and Ice Land Arena, the tournament featured intense competition across fourteen divisions, ranging from 8U to 18U. Teams from various regions competed fiercely for the championship titles, displaying impressive skills and sportsmanship throughout the event.

8U B Championship

In the 8U B division, Phantoms Hockey edged out NJ Raiders (Black) in a thrilling match that ended 7-6. The first period saw Phantoms Hockey take a commanding 4-2 lead. Both teams continued to battle hard in the second period, with Phantoms scoring three more goals to NJ Raiders’ four. The high-paced action concluded with Phantoms Hockey holding on to their narrow lead for the win.

8U C Championship

The 8U C division saw Metro Knights (Navy) dominate Jersey Shore Americans (White) with an impressive 11-2 victory. Metro Knights set the tone early, scoring seven goals in the first period. They continued their dominance in the second period, adding four more goals while Jersey Shore Americans managed to score only twice.

10U AA Championship

The Blue Wolves claimed the 10U AA title with a solid 4-1 victory over NJ Raiders (Black). Blue Wolves took control early, scoring two goals in the first period and adding two more in the second. NJ Raiders managed to score one goal in the third period, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.

10U A Championship

Mt Laurel Jackals secured the 10U A championship by defeating Hockey Essentials 6-2. The Jackals opened the game with two goals in the first period and continued their momentum in the second, scoring three more goals. Hockey Essentials scored twice in the second period, but the Jackals sealed the win with an additional goal in the third.

10U B Championship

Skylands Savages triumphed in the 10U B division, defeating Jersey City Capitals 5-2. The Savages took an early lead with two goals in the first period and maintained their advantage with two more in the second. Jersey City Capitals scored once in each of the first two periods, but the Savages added another goal in the third to secure the victory.

12U A Championship

The USA Allstars dominated the 12U A division, winning 8-1 against NJ Raiders. The Allstars were unstoppable in the first period, scoring five goals. They added another goal in the second period and two more in the third, while the Raiders managed only one goal in the first period.

12U B Championship

Hollydell Selects clinched the 12U B title with a 7-3 victory over Pittsburgh Chiefs. Hollydell took control with five goals in the first period. Pittsburgh Chiefs scored once in each period, but Hollydell Selects added two more goals in the second period to secure the win.

14U AA Championship

Jersey Shore Americans emerged victorious in the 14U AA division, defeating Skylands Savages 5-1. The Americans scored once in the first period and twice in both the second and third periods. Skylands Savages managed a single goal in the third period but couldn’t close the gap.

14U A Championship

In the 14U A division, NJ Raiders defeated WPH2 Panthers 3-1. The Raiders scored one goal in the first period and two in the second, while the Panthers managed one goal in the second period. The third period saw no additional goals, and the Raiders held on for the win.

14U B Championship

NJ 46ers claimed the 14U B championship with a 5-2 win over Hard Edge Hockey. The game was tied 2-2 after the first period, but NJ 46ers took control in the second period with one goal and added two more in the third to secure the victory.

16U AA Championship

NJ Raiders won the 16U AA division by defeating WPH2 Panthers 4-1. The Raiders scored two goals in the first period and two more in the third, while the Panthers managed a single goal in the second period.

16U A Championship

Hard Edge Hockey triumphed in the 16U A division, winning 2-1 against Junior Jacks (Red). Hard Edge Hockey scored one goal in each of the first two periods, while Junior Jacks managed one goal in the third period but couldn’t equalize.

18U AA Championship

NJ Raiders dominated the 18U AA division with a 7-2 victory over HEH Hockey. The Raiders scored twice in the first period, three times in the second, and twice in the third, while HEH Hockey scored once in each of the first two periods.

18U A Championship

Old Bridge Jr. Knights secured the 18U A championship by defeating Pittsburgh Chiefs-2 with a decisive 4-0 victory. The Knights scored one goal in the first period, two in the second, and one more in the third, shutting out the Chiefs completely.
