New England Fall Prep Championship Recap
The New England Fall Prep, hosted by Defender Hockey Tournaments, took place from August 31 to September 1, 2024, across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. 14U-18U Tier 1 teams came together to compete in an exciting weekend of hockey, filled with skillful play, competitive spirit, and great sportsmanship. Each division featured tightly contested games, with teams fighting hard for the championship titles. Below are the highlights from each division's championship game.
14U Championship Recap
Seacoast (6-0-0) secured the 14U division championship with a solid 6-1 victory over Fall Prep (4-2-0). Seacoast started strong with a goal in the first period and unleashed a powerful offensive surge in the second period, scoring five goals. Fall Prep managed to get on the board with a goal in the second period, but Seacoast's strong defense held them off for the remainder of the game, sealing the win.
15U Championship Recap
The PAL Jr. Islanders (6-0-0) claimed the 15U division title with a 4-0 win against the Mercer Chiefs (4-2-0). The Islanders set the pace early, scoring three goals in the first period and adding another in the second. The Chiefs battled hard but couldn't break through the Islanders' defense. The Islanders maintained their control throughout the game to earn the shutout victory.
16U Championship Recap
SPA U16 National (5-0-0) emerged victorious in the 16U division with a 3-2 win over the PAL Jr. Islanders (4-1-0). The Islanders took the lead with a goal in the first period, but SPA U16 National responded with two goals in the second period. Both teams played aggressively in the final period, but a goal from SPA U16 National in the third period proved to be the difference, securing them the championship.
18U Championship Recap
SPA U18 National (5-0-0) captured the 18U division title with a narrow 3-2 win against the Islanders Hockey Club (3-2-0). The game was tightly contested, with SPA taking an early lead in the first period. The Islanders Hockey Club fought back with two goals in the second period to tie the game, but SPA U18 National found the back of the net once more in the third period to clinch the victory.
